It's cold out there!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

This is one of my favorite Christmas carols. Many years ago at a church my dad was pastoring an elderly gentleman sang this song. He walked to the front of the church in tattered clothing, long gray hair and beard and began to sing. It was beautiful! I'm not real sure how old Mr. Cooper was, but he lived many years after that Christmas and now he is singing with the Angel choir! Every time I hear "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear", I see and hear Mr. Cooper on that Christmas many years ago!

Fall is in the air!! I love the changing of the leaves and the smell of change in the air. It is that time of year when football is king and all is right with the world. Pumpkins are seen everywhere and colors are abundant! The smell of fresh cut wood lets us know that winter is just around the corner! HAPPY FALL!!!

Where Does the Time Go???

Zeb, Madison, and Judd - BFFs

Where does the time go?? It seems like only yesterday that Zeb was starting kindergarten and this past week he started 7th grade!! Along with 7th grade comes football. Zeb has been waiting for this all his life. Yes, it has had its ups and downs, but in the end he is enjoying being on the team and is anticipating his first game on September 1. Yesterday was picture day and they all looked so grown-up in their uniforms, yet so much like little boys playing dress-up. As a mom, I am surviving the middle school years with lots of prayer and worry. Teaching middle school for 3 years taught me that those are some of the most difficult years a child can face. So many things during this time shape who they will eventually become. People who were once friends no longer share the same interest and new friendships are forged as horizons broaden. As a parent we see children turning into teens and beginning to make their way in this world. Yes, there will be tears and laughter, but though prayer, family and friends we all survive. Hopefully we have taught them well. I am excited to see what the future holds for Zeb and his friends, yet a little sad at the fact that my little boy is growing up all to quickly.

"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince"

Last night (or rather early this morning) Zeb and I went to see the new Harry Potter movie with friends! We had a great time and loved the movie! We got in bed around 3:00 this morning! I am running on empty today!

Voices of Glory

These kids were on "America's Got Talent" last night and are amazing. They have incredible voices and a great story to share!

HAPPY 12TH BIRTHDAY ZEB!!!

Zeb is 12 today!!

I can't believe he is 12 and will be in the 7th grade next year!! WOW! Where does the time go?? We are having his"family" party tonight and his "friends" party tomorrow night! We are looking forward to lots of fun and fellowship! Have a great day Zeb!!

Random Thoughts

- IEPs are finished!!
- Special Olympics were canceled.
- The weekend is going to be lazy!
- Only 14 school days left until summer!
- We spent last weekend in Gatlinburg with the UMYF from our church. We had a wonderful time!
- Still praying for my friend Pam!
- Looking forward to Summer, a trip to the beach, and who knows what else Summer will bring!
